Residential Apartment, Burwood – D5D

The site is located opposite Burwood railway station and consists of several old houses ripe to be re-developed. A 51-unit “L” shaped block is proposed around a large open space at the north-western corner of the site . Many of the units are double-storey and have both a street and courtyard outlook.

The design defines the street corner with a coloured blade wall cutting through an almost transparent corner. The grids in the two wings will be double-storey and the top units will be gradually set-back from the street in order to reduce the apparent number of storeys and height of the building.
